Invisalign Hawthorn

Invisalign is the lesser invasive alternative to traditional braces. Using custom-fit plastic trays called aligners, your teeth will slowly adjust into alignment. Patients love them because they can be worn day and night, and removed for eating and teeth cleaning. It’s an easier way to achieve a more affordable and beautiful smile.

Benefits of Invisalign
Using Invisalign to straighten your teeth is more comfortable than other cosmetic dental procedures. And the result is more predictable because ClinCheck technology helps you see results before the work is done. This same technology shows how your teeth should be developing along the way, so if things begin to change, your treatment can be quickly re-adjusted, ensuring your desired results will be achieved. Here are some more benefits of Invisalign:

Are You a Candidate?
Invisalign is a viable option for teeth straightening as a cost-effective and less invasive treatment than traditional braces. There are a number of dental concerns that can be fixed with Invisalign, including:
- Overbite
- Crossbite
- Underbite
- Open bite
- Gapped teeth
- Crowded teeth
As you can see, Invisalign is appropriate for many different dental misalignment issues. An initial dental examination is the best way to start Invisalign. This exam and consultation will allow the dental professional to see if it is the best option for you. The dentist will also have a chance to see if there are any other problems that should be corrected before receiving your aligners, such as gum disease or tooth decay.
Not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. Sometimes teeth are too crooked, a tooth may need to be removed or perhaps a gap is too large. No matter what the situation, an experienced dentist will be able to determine if braces are necessary, or if a small fix is needed. In many cases, once a problem is fixed, the patient can move ahead with Invisalign.

Getting Ready for Invisalign
After your initial exam, a 3D scan and photos will be taken of your teeth. The information will be sent to Invisalign’s ClinCheck, and the results will show us the path of treatment, how long treatment will take and what the results will look like. Once you are happy, a simple click on the computer begins the process and your first set of aligners will be manufactured. Here are the steps in order:

The Invisalign Process
The treatment and caring for your Invisalign trays are as easy as your daily oral hygiene practice. We will go over the details with you when you receive your first set of trays, but in general, this is what you can expect:

After Treatment Care
The initial assessment will determine how many aligners and time you will need to achieve your desired results. Once complete, patients are given retainers to wear to help the teeth “learn” to stay in place. These may be worn from 12 to 22 hours for anywhere from three to six months. Luckily, our team is very experienced with Invisalign and will be able to help guide you through this process, so your teeth stay straight, and your smile remains beautiful.
